Description

Deliciously flaky Strawberry Danish pastries filled with a creamy blend of cheese and fresh strawberries, perfect for brunch or a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick and cut it into rectangles, roughly 3×4 inches.
  3. Mix the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Fill the center of each pastry rectangle with a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Add sliced strawberries on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
  7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a glossy finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they puff up and turn golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Make the cream cheese mixture a day in advance. Experiment with different berries or add spices to the cream cheese for customization.
