Description

Delightful shrimp burgers topped with creamy cilantro guacamole, perfect for summer gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 g raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • 15 g fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 40 g red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño, minced (optional)
  • 4 burger buns of choice
  • Lettuce leaves and sliced tomatoes, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: Place the peeled and deveined shrimp in a food processor. Pulse gently until coarsely chopped.
  2. Combine ingredients: Transfer the chopped shrimp to a mixing bowl. Add breadcrumbs, cilantro, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, egg, and lime juice. Mix gently.
  3. Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into four portions and shape into compact patties.
  4. Heat the skillet: Warm a grill or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Cook the patties: Place the patties on the hot surface and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden.
  6. Make the guacamole: Mash the avocado and stir in red onion, jalapeño, salt, and lime juice.
  7. Toast the buns (optional): Toast the burger buns until lightly browned.
  8. Assemble your burgers: Start with a base bun, add a shrimp patty, spoonful of guacamole, lettuce, and tomato. Top with the second bun.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using an air fryer for cooking the patties.
