- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg

- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/4 cup patriotic sprinkles
- 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
- Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Whisk the flour and baking powder together in a separate bowl.
- Combine the dry and wet mixtures until just combined.
- Fold in the patriotic sprinkles using a rubber spatula.
- Spread the dough into the prepared baking pan and bake for 20–22 minutes.
- Cool completely in the pan before preparing the frosting.
- Beat together the powdered sugar, softened butter, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Frost the cooled cookie bars and add extra sprinkles on top.
- Slice into squares and serve.
Notes
These bars can be made ahead and store well. Avoid overmixing the dough for best texture.
