Instructions
- Prepare your baking station: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, combine softened butter and granulated sugar. Beat with your electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate eggs and flavors: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract, orange extract, and orange zest.
- Dry ingredients meet wet: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour.

- Create the frosting: Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually incorporate powdered sugar, heavy cream, orange extract, and zest until fluffy.
- Assemble your masterpiece: Once cakes are cool, frost between layers and on top and sides. Create desired design with a spatula.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle additional orange zest on top and slice the cake for serving.
