Description

A delightful cake that captures the essence of summer with bright orange flavors and creamy textures, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box orange cake mix
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch cake pan by greasing it lightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the orange cake mix, orange juice, eggs, and vegetable oil. Mix until the batter is smooth and well-combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing out the top gently with a spatula.
  4. Bake according to package instructions, usually around 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes.
  6. Poke holes all over the top with a fork to soak in the sweetened condensed milk.
  7. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of the poke cake.
  8. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy peaks form.
  9. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
  10. Sprinkle the orange zest over the top for flavor and aroma.
  11. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

Make-Ahead Tips: Bake the cake a day in advance and complete the assembly on the day you wish to serve it. Customize with chocolate chips or lemon zest for variation.
