Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, egg yolks, key lime juice, and salt in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into the pre-baked pie crust.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until the filling sets.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely.
- Beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the meringue over the cooled pie, ensuring it touches the edges.
- Return the pie to the oven and bake for 10 minutes, until the meringue is lightly browned.
- Cool completely before serving.
