Description

A comforting casserole filled with layers of tender potatoes, savory ground beef, and melted cheddar cheese, perfect for chilly evenings and nostalgic gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  5. Drain any excess fat.
  6. Combine the beef mixture with the cream of mushroom soup, sliced potatoes, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  7. Transfer the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
  8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  11. Let it cool slightly before serving.
