Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms (button or cremini)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 eggs

  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Prepare the egg mixture in a separate bowl by whisking together the eggs and milk.
  4. Coat the mushrooms: dip first in flour, then in egg, and finally roll in breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat enough oil in a fry pan over medium heat until it sizzles.
  6. Fry the mushrooms until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  7. Drain excess oil by placing fried mushrooms on paper towels. Serve hot!

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using an air fryer. Make-ahead tips: Breaded mushrooms can be frozen before frying.
