- 8 oz fresh mushrooms (button or cremini)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Prepare the egg mixture in a separate bowl by whisking together the eggs and milk.
- Coat the mushrooms: dip first in flour, then in egg, and finally roll in breadcrumbs.
- Heat enough oil in a fry pan over medium heat until it sizzles.
- Fry the mushrooms until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Drain excess oil by placing fried mushrooms on paper towels. Serve hot!
