- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup crushed walnuts or almonds (optional)
- Vanilla extract to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your round cake pans to prevent sticking.
- Beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the honey and softened butter, mixing well.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in another bowl.
- Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans, tapping to eliminate air bubbles.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes completely in their pans before removing.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and add vanilla extract if desired.
- Layer the whipped cream between each cake layer, adding nuts if using.
- Garnish the top with extra whipped cream or nuts and refrigerate before serving.
