Description

Delicious jalapeño poppers filled with a creamy mixture of cheeses, spices, and crumbled bacon, topped with crunchy tortilla chips.


Ingredients

  • 8 large jalapeño peppers (halved lengthwise and seeded)
  • 7 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (plus 2 tbsp for topping, freshly shredded)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 5 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
  • 1/4 cup tortilla chips (crushed into 1/4-inch pieces)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the jalapeño peppers by slicing them in half lengthwise and removing the seeds.
  3. Mix the filling ingredients (cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chives, salt, pepper, and bacon) in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture.
  5. Top with crushed tortilla chips and remaining cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake on a baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the filling in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Air frying can also be used for a quicker cooking method.
