- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Prepare the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until evenly mixed.
- Incorporate the wet ingredients: Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix using an electric mixer on medium speed for approximately 2 minutes.
- Add the boiling water carefully, stirring in until it’s a thin mixture.
- Divide and pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool the cakes in the pans for about 10 minutes, then remove them and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
