Description

Ingredients

  • 24 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream, divided
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate shavings
  • 8 small chocolate pieces or squares, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust. Start by crushing the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs. Mix them with the melted butter until combined. Press into a 9-inch pie dish and chill for 20 minutes.
  2. Make the filling. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, and chocolate, mixing until creamy and blended.
  3. Whip the cream. In another bowl, whip 1 cup of cream until soft peaks form. Fold into the chocolate mixture gently.
  4. Assemble the pie. Spoon the filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Prepare the ganache. Heat the remaining cream until warm, then pour over chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
  6. Decorate. Pour ganache over the chilled pie and top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and chocolate pieces.
  7. Slice and serve chilled for a delightful experience.
