Description

Delicious bacon-wrapped scallops drizzled with a sweet maple glaze, perfect for impressing guests or savoring as a special treat.


Ingredients

  • 12 large sea scallops, cleaned and patted dry
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (gluten-free recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top.
  3. Arrange the bacon slices on the rack and bake for 8 minutes until beginning to brown.
  4. Wrap each scallop in a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Combine maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, and black pepper in a small bowl and whisk to mix.
  6. Brush half the glaze over the bacon-wrapped scallops.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes, flip each scallop, and brush with the remaining glaze, baking for an additional 6-8 minutes until bacon is crisp.
  8. Transfer to a platter and garnish with chives or parsley. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

You can prepare these scallops in advance and refrigerate until ready to bake. For a spicy kick, add cayenne pepper to the glaze.
