- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk

- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined; lumps are okay.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove the beignets with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar while still warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using an air fryer. Dust with powdered sugar immediately after frying for optimal sweetness.
