Description
A rich and creamy lasagna layered with savory ground beef, marinara sauce, and a blend of cheeses. Perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil preferred)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the meat is no longer pink and the onions become translucent. Drain excess fat and stir in the marinara sauce. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of your baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of your ricotta mixture. Add a layer of meat sauce, then repeat the process. Finish with a final layer of noodles topped with remaining meat sauce.
- Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
For best results, let the lasagna sit for a short period before slicing. Feel free to customize with veggies or meat alternatives.
