- 1 package of store-bought puff pastry
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each heart shape and top with chopped strawberries.
- Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and crimp with a fork to seal.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
- Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
Use alternative fruits or add citrus zest for variation. For a quicker version, use an air fryer.
