Instructions

  3. Mix in another bowl the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth, then fold in the chopped strawberries.
  6. Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron, filling it just enough to let the batter spread.
  7. Cook until golden brown, typically around 4-5 minutes.
  8. Carefully remove the waffle, cut it open, and fill it generously with the cheesecake mixture.
  9. Serve immediately with whipped cream on the side.

Notes

For quicker preparation, pre-chop strawberries and mix the filling the night before.
