Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup strawberries, diced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (for topping)
  • Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Mix the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until frothy.
  3. Pour the wet mix into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about half an inch thickness and cut out the donuts.
  6. Fry the donuts in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove the donuts and let them drain on paper towels.
  8. Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in another bowl until smooth.
  9. Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the cheesecake glaze, then sprinkle with diced strawberries and sugar.
  10. Serve them warmly or at room temperature.

Notes

You can prepare the dough a day in advance. Use an air fryer for a healthier option or bake at 375°F for a lighter version.
