Description

A comforting and flavorful slow cooker dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (1.5 to 2 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from chicken breasts and pat them dry.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, whole grain mustard, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, followed by the chicken broth.
  4. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them, ensuring they are coated.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 to 2.5 hours until chicken is tender.
  6. About 15 minutes before serving, transfer chicken to a plate and cover with foil. Mix cornstarch with cold water to form a slurry and stir into the sauce in the slow cooker.
  7. Cook sauce on high for an additional 10-15 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  8. Return chicken to the slow cooker, spoon sauce over the top, and reheat for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with fluffy rice, buttery mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
