- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (1.5 to 2 pounds)
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from chicken breasts and pat them dry.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, whole grain mustard, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
- Stir in minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper, followed by the chicken broth.
- Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them, ensuring they are coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 to 2.5 hours until chicken is tender.
- About 15 minutes before serving, transfer chicken to a plate and cover with foil. Mix cornstarch with cold water to form a slurry and stir into the sauce in the slow cooker.
- Cook sauce on high for an additional 10-15 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Return chicken to the slow cooker, spoon sauce over the top, and reheat for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with fluffy rice, buttery mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
