- 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the baking pan by lining an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Mix the melted butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, and mix until incorporated.
- Incorporate the sifted flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet mixture, folding gently to avoid overmixing.
- Reserve 1/4 cup of the brownie batter in a separate container.
- Spread the remaining brownie batter into the prepared pan evenly.
- Prepare the cheesecake layer by beating the softened cream cheese in a separate bowl until smooth. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.
- Layer the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
- Add spoonfuls of the reserved brownie batter on top and swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for about 35 minutes, or until the center is set.
- Cool completely and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing.
Notes
For added flavor, consider stirring in chocolate chips or nuts, and allow these brownies to chill overnight for the best taste.
