- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
- Optional: Pickles and tomatoes for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onion over medium heat until fully cooked.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour, and baking powder until smooth.
- In a greased pie dish, layer the beef mixture evenly.
- Pour the batter over the beef mixture and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the pie is set and golden brown on top.
- Let cool slightly, then slice and serve with pickles and tomatoes if desired.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option. Make-ahead tips can enhance flavors.
