Description

A decadent tart featuring rich chocolate and crunchy pecans, perfect for celebrations and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 34 tablespoons ice water
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecan halves or pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add ice water gradually until the dough forms.
  5. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  6. Roll the dough on a floured surface to fit the 9-inch tart pan.
  7. Whisk together brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, bourbon (if using), vanilla, and salt in a bowl until smooth.
  8. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  9. Pour filling into the chilled tart shell and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the center is set.
  11. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

You can prepare the crust a day in advance. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for an extra treat.
