Description

A delightful twist on classic pizza featuring garlic-infused naan topped with marinara and gooey mozzarella, finished with fresh basil.


Ingredients

  • 4 pieces naan bread, store-bought or homemade
  • 1.5 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup fresh basil leaves, torn or sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Crushed red pepper flakes to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, blend together the melted butter, minced garlic, olive oil, and sea salt.
  4. Brush each naan bread generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  5. Spoon 3 to 4 tablespoons of marinara sauce onto each naan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each naan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with torn basil leaves. Add freshly ground black pepper and crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the garlic butter mixture and marinara sauce a day in advance. For a smoky flavor, try grilling instead of baking.
