Description

A comforting bowl of Crockpot Ham and Bean Soup packed with protein-rich ham and creamy Great Northern beans, perfect for cozy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 1.4 liters chicken broth
  • 450 grams dried Great Northern beans, rinsed
  • 3 large carrots, diced
  • 3 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • Diced baked ham
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients by chopping your carrots, celery, and onion. Rinse the dried Great Northern beans until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine in the crockpot the chicken broth, rinsed beans, diced carrots, diced celery, and onion. Stir everything together.
  3. Season generously with diced ham, salt, and pepper. Optional: Add a bay leaf or herbs.
  4. Slow cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours until beans are tender.
  5. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley or cracked pepper.

Notes
