Ingredients
- Unsalted Butter (227 g)
- Brown Sugar (220 g)
- Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
- Salt (0.5 teaspoon)
- Saltine Crackers (enough to cover the pan)
- Cinnamon-Sugar (to taste)
- Chocolate Chips (1 cup)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Spread the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking pan.
- Pour the butter mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for about 15 minutes until bubbling and golden.
- Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar and chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
Make-ahead: These bars can be made a day ahead and stored at room temperature. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
