Description

Churro Toffee Bars are a decadent dessert combining buttery toffee, crunchy saltine crackers, chocolate chips, and a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar, evoking memories of cherished moments and joyful gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Unsalted Butter (227 g)
  • Brown Sugar (220 g)
  • Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (0.5 teaspoon)
  • Saltine Crackers (enough to cover the pan)
  • Cinnamon-Sugar (to taste)
  • Chocolate Chips (1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Spread the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking pan.
  5. Pour the butter mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar and chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

Make-ahead: These bars can be made a day ahead and stored at room temperature. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
