Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2–3 medium potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
- 500 grams (about 1 pound) lean beef mince
- Lettuce (shredded)
- Cheese (dairy-free or regular)
- Pickle slices
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Wash and cut the potatoes into chips. Pat them dry with paper towels. Place the chips in a large mixing bowl, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and sprinkle half of the spice mix. Toss well.
- Arrange the seasoned potatoes on a baking tray in a single layer. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 30-40 minutes or until crispy, or use an air fryer for about 20 minutes.
- While the potatoes bake, heat the remaining olive oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the beef mince, breaking it apart, until browned. Sprinkle the remaining spice mix.
- In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix well and adjust to taste.
- Once the potatoes are golden, divide them among bowls. Add shredded lettuce, savory beef mixture, cheese, pickle slices, and drizzle with sauce.
Notes
Prep the spice mix and chop vegetables in advance for smoother cooking. You can use an air fryer for quicker cooking of the potatoes.
