Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Brown the butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter, stirring frequently for about 5-7 minutes until golden and nutty.
- Combine sugars and butter in a mixing bowl.
- Incorporate eggs and vanilla, beating in one egg at a time until well blended.
- Whisk dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Mix wet and dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk until just combined.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before glazing.
- Make the glaze by whisking maple syrup and powdered sugar until smooth, then drizzle over cooled bars.
- Slice into squares and serve.
