- 1 box (approximately 450 g) puff pastry, thawed
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 50 g granulated sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cherry filling (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Add the cherry filling on top of the cream cheese evenly.
- Cut slits on both sides of the pastry, about 1-inch apart.
- Fold the slits over the filling in a braid pattern, alternating sides.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Assemble the Danish ahead of time and refrigerate before baking. Experiment with different fruit fillings for variety.
