Description

A delightful pastry that combines flaky puff pastry with a rich cream cheese filling and vibrant cherry filling, perfect for brunch gatherings or a special treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (approximately 450 g) puff pastry, thawed
  • 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cherry filling (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Spread the softened cream cheese evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Add the cherry filling on top of the cream cheese evenly.
  5. Cut slits on both sides of the pastry, about 1-inch apart.
  6. Fold the slits over the filling in a braid pattern, alternating sides.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Assemble the Danish ahead of time and refrigerate before baking. Experiment with different fruit fillings for variety.
