Description

A delicious blend of barbecue chicken and melty cheese in a crispy, buttery grilled sandwich.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (white, whole grain, or sourdough)
  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Combine the shredded chicken with the barbecue sauce until well mixed.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Heat your skillet over medium heat, and place one slice of bread, butter-side down, into the skillet.
  4. Layer half of the shredded cheese on top of the bread.
  5. Add the BBQ chicken mixture, spreading it evenly.
  6. Cap it with the remaining cheese.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  8. Cook for 2-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until crispy and cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.

Notes

For added crunch, consider using an air fryer. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
